Simone TOLOMEO is a composer, bandoneonist and pianist. Born in Palermo in 1985, he initially trained in piano and composition at the National Conservatory of his city. After initially devoting himself to classical music and Mediterranean folklore with the piano, he then turned to the study of the bandoneon in Buenos Aires with Federico Pereiro, Rodolfo Mederos and Juan José Mosalini at the same time as he was studying composition, arrangement and counterpoint with Gabriel Senanes and Ramiro Gallo.

 

Currently residing in Paris, he is perfecting his contemporary composition skills under the supervision of the French composer Nicolas Bacri at the Schola Cantorum.

As a bandoneon player, he has regularly performed in shows at the most important venues in the Argentine capital (CCK, Usina del Arte, Centro Cultural San Martin, etc.) and has participated in several theater shows, including “Manzi, una vida en Orsai”. He also accompanies the Italian tenor Fabio Armiliato under the artistic direction of the pianist Fabrizio Mocata.

 

Furthermore, he has become a member of different tango orchestras (Fabián Bertero Big Band Tango, Orquesta Arquetípica de Ramiro Gallo, Ariel Ardit OT, La Sacada OT, Silbando) and has participated in several recordings. He has also joined the "Ensemble Murgier" (Argentine music). He is one of the founders as composer and bandoneonist of the tango trio "Los Milonguitas", with whom he has performed more than 500 concerts between 2016 and 2022, and of the contemporary tango quartet "No Tags", with whom they will present their recording production "Azimut Project" in Japan in November 2023.

 

As a composer and bandoneonist he has played at the Munich Philharmonic (Germany), the Kaluga Philharmonic (Russia), the Salle Molière in Lyon accompanied by the Lyon Chamber Orchestra and he made his debut at the Philharmonie de Paris on May 21, 2022.

 

He is part as an artist of the Collective “Por Qué No”, he is co-founder and organizer of the concert cycle “La Cita” (cycle of concerts by soloists around Argentine music) and he is part of the Administration Committee of the FCMC (Federation of the Composition of Creative Music).

 

Since September 2022, he has been an artist in residence at the association "Le Chant des Hommes" in Bois-Colombes, in order to compose a quintet for piano and string quartet, as well as to create and record it at the same time as his String Quartet Op. 5 and his Piano Sonatina Op. 4.

 

Since 2019, he has joined the artistic team of the theater show Tango Secret under the musical direction of Luis Rigou and Céline Bishop, and under the artistic direction of Coralie Zahonero and Vicente Pradal.

 

Since 2021, he has been working on the musical creation of the theatrical show Ephemera, with the pianist Pablo Murgier and the choreographic creation of Los Guardiola.
